The “BOOTING IN SAFEMODE NETWORK” BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) error may appear during the initialization process for Windows XP, Vista, 2000, 2008, and Windows 7 and 8. It means that the computer boots in the Safe Mode and with Network services, but many other services are unavailable. It shutdowns the system and forces a reboot to prevent damage and data loss.
The BSOD error is usually caused by damaged or a corrupted files, such as damaged system files that result in startup errors. Corrupted system files result from the incomplete uninstall of programs, incomplete software installations, recovery of the system from malware and spyware attack, and the use of improper methods in deleting applications and installed hardware.
This BSOD error is also known as “BOOTING_IN_SAFEMODE_NETWORK” and “STOP 0x000000A9“. Some users of Windows OS have reported this error, which normally appears on the screen during the initialization of the system.
You can resolve the “BOOTING IN SAFEMODE NETWORK” BSOD by manually editing the Windows Registry to delete the corrupted file that is causing the error. To do this, you have to start the registry editor by clicking Start and typing regedit in the search box, and then press Enter. Successively open the folders HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, Microsoft, Windows, and then Current version folder by using the arrow keys. Click on the Run folder and click on the Com Error Number: 0x000000A9 file. Press Delete Com Error Number: 0x000000A9 key to delete the file that is causing the BSOD error, and then restart the computer.
You can also try loading the last known good configuration to resolve the BSOD error, which is a recovery option for all versions of Windows. To access the Windows Advanced Options Menu, you have to start the computer and press the F8 key before the Windows Logo appears on the screen. Use the arrow key to highlight Last Known Good Configuration and then press Enter.
