Mellel means text in Hebrew, and this is an application that was developed by RedleX, which is a software company in Israel. Its development started way back 2002 and since then different features are being added to it which most came from the suggestions of its users. It is a program which acts as a word processor specifically for Mac OS X. It has a Multilanguage support wherein different languages which are categorized as non-Latin alphabets which includes Persian, Arabic, Korean and Hebrew were controlled well because of its support for both OpenType and Unicode fonts. It has the capability of exporting PDF files and can even support RTF files. It somewhat supports DOC but not ODT and DOCX file extensions.
